HISTORY OF FAVORS
Wedding favors are tokens of gratitude and appreciation that you present to your guests for sharing a special event.
The history of wedding favors dates back as far as the 16th century. Biscuits, fruits and nuts were the very first wedding favors. Favors were usually presented before ceremony so that the guests can enjoy them during the festivities. In ancient Rome, nuts and cereal grains were thrown to symbolize fertility. In ancient Italy, favors were evident among the wealthy. The bride and groom would present their guests with silk scarves, incense and muhr.
Today, favors are still among the most sought after item for weddings. Favors have now been expanded to a symbol of gratitude for most events, such as bridal showers, baby showers, anniversary, birthday and even corporate celebrations.
Over the centuries, traditional wedding favors have evolved into unique, sophisticated and themed favors that put a little twist in the special event.
